If black is a girl’s best friend, then red is a girl’s secret weapon. It’s the go-to color for a big day. Wearing red empowers me and gives me the boost of confidence to live boldly.

Red is not just for the lips. You can create sexy, smokey eyes by applying bold, red eyeshadow. Take a closer look at your eyeshadow palettes; you will most likely find a few shades of red in there. It’s easier than you think to add red to your eye makeup. Start from the edge of the eyes and color the entire eyelid. To finish, apply pink shimmer and blend well to avoid the puffy eye look!.

Matte red-brown lip color is a hot new trend this season.  As some of you may have noticed,  ‘red’ has been trending for some time now.  But wait! There are, of course, 50 shades of red out there. Whats ‘in’ right now is a darker shade with a hint of brown. This gives it a deeper color, and the matte finish gives it a flawless look.

I went into a M•A•C store to find a color for myself, and ooh-la-la, each one of the lipsticks had a cute name like, ‘smoked almond,’ ‘toast and butter’ and so many more creative, catchy names. After trying on many colors (because that’s the best part of makeup shopping, right?) and giving it some thought, I finally decided to go with ‘brick dust.’ It’s an orange-ish brown matte finish lipstick with a sweet scent to it. I love that this color goes with so many looks. And the best part? You don’t have to break your wallet when you’re shopping at M•A•C. Ladies, don’t underestimate the power of red lipstick, there’s something about it that empowers us and gives us confidence.  So, grab one for yourself, and rock the world!
